Today I spent Thanksgiving at work for the very first time. I usually spend the day at my grandma’s house with my family. This year I passed my time at Lycée Renoir with some of my favorite students.
Of course I created today’s lesson plan with Thanksgiving in mind. I was even pleasantly surprised when several of my students offered the real history of the pilgrims’ arrival in North America instead of the falsehoods we have been teaching in our schools for ages. Proud teacher moment.
Despite the fact that I was unable to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast with my family, my first Thanksgiving on my own wasn’t terrible. I even had the opportunity to speak with my family on the phone for a while.
To top it all off, both my American football team (Detroit Lions) and my English football club (Liverpool) won today!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends, family, and followers
